Photography is my daily meditation.
I get up at about 5am everyday. Write in my journal, plan my day and put my socks on. Then I grab my camera/phone to go for a walk to set myself up for the day. It is my meditation.
Photography can certainly be a form of meditation, as it allows me to focus on the present moment and to capture the beauty of the world around us. I'm lucky that after leaving London I have beautiful surroundings including a nature reserve, woodlands and more.
When we take photographs, we are often forced to slow down and pay attention to our surroundings. We look for interesting patterns, colours, and compositions, and we may need to adjust our perspective or positioning to capture the shot we want. This process can be very meditative, as it requires us to be fully present in the moment and to focus our attention on the task at hand. I've tried meditation apps but I have always struggled, so this is how I relax especially when I cannot solve a creative problem. Just one half an hour walk is the best cure. I do it many times a day. Sometimes at 3am.
Overall, photography can be a powerful tool for meditation and mindfulness, allowing us to connect with the world around us in a deeper and more meaningful way. And clear our minds when life and being creative becomes a chore. It certainly solves any issues I have.
